XOM


Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM) has decided to stop production at its Xikomba oilfield in Angola.
As its oil deposits have been depleted, the oil giant Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM) is planning to stop production at the Xikomba oilfield.
The company started production at the field in 2003 and has 40% ownership in it.
Fernando Pegado, a Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM) spokesman said, “Production at the field, some 145 kilometers (90 miles) offshore in Angola’s Block 15, started in 2003 and has yielded close to 100 million barrels in total. Peak output was 90,000 barrels a day and the company is now carrying out decommissioning activities.”
Exxon Mobil Corp. (NYSE:XOM) company shares are currently standing at 74.04.
