Mahesh was born on 9 August 1974 to legendary actor Krishna and Indira devi. Being a son of a super star, Mahesh made his acting debut at a child artist in his father’s film ‘Needa’. Later, he acted in several films (as child artist), which mostly starred his father in the lead role.
His first film as a hero was the Raghavender Rao directed ‘Rajakumarudu’ released in the year 1999. The film was a big hit, and from then, began his reign over the Tollywood. Some of his big accomplishments include Murari, Okkadu, Arjun, Athadu and Pokiri. The last one (Pokiri) was one of the biggest hits, Telugu Cinema has ever seen. It set new records in Tollywood.
Then came Sainikudu, Athidhi and Khaleja, which all carried sky rocketing expectations, but went to be average performers. This had least effect on his stardom and remains untouched in the Telugu Film Industry.
His next film ‘Dookudu’, which is an action packed romantic entertainer, is expected for release on 31st of August. Needless to say, it is one of the most awaited films with very high expectations.
Till date, he has bagged six Nandi Award and a couple of Filmfare Awards.
Apart from this, he is the brand ambassador for Thumbs Up, Navratna, UniverCell, Amrutanjan, Provogue, Idea, Vivel and Jos Alukkas in Andhra Pradesh.
